We have been working hard to improve our Gallery Album and Photo Pano Book photo covers for the past few months and are finally ready to share the changes with you. Photo covers are one of the more complex products to design due to the fact that the image spans the front and back covers, plus provides extra space for the edges to wrap fully around the boards that make up each cover. One of our goals was to make this design process more reliable and consistent; giving you the product you imagined.
In order to achieve all of this, we have two brand new sets of design guides for photo covers. PLEASE DELETE ANY OLD GUIDES you may have stored locally and download the new guides from our website. The old design guides no longer match how we produce these covers and will cause order issues if used, so it is important to use the new files.
The latest release of hhstudio has these guides built in so they will match the Photoshop files we’re providing. Velocity is also being updated with these same cover guidelines. One thing to note specifically for Velocity users; the spine hinges (soft divots between the cover boards and spine) which used to be shown in dark grey, will no longer be possible to show separately from the cover boards.
